One Somerset: October
We are one month into the school year and our students, your children, make our hearts sing!  It is a delight to greet your young ones each morning as they arrive at school eager to learn.  Ms. Yung and I enjoyed seeing such a great turn out during our grade level curriculum nights.  We truly consider you partners in our day-to-day work educating your children both academically and social-emotionally.

PTSA Fall Fundraising Drive
The 2017-18 Fall Fundraising Drive will end on Friday, October 6th. We thank all of the families that have already contributed. If you have not yet made your donation, please consider doing so today. Your $200 contribution support instructional aides in the classroom, $65 in curriculum enhancements for your child (field trips, in-school activities, assemblies), after-school activities, STEM programs, and so much more!

Principal Coffee
Please join me in the library on Friday, October 6 from 8:15-8:50. I, along with a few of our Somerset staff will be sharing information about the district’s Equity and Inclusion initiative and, more specifically, how we are doing this work at Somerset.  Supervision will be provided in the Quiet café for the children of those attending. We look forward to seeing you on Friday!

Celebrations!
Thank you for adhering to the new drop off and pick up procedures.  The traffic flow during these times is better than it has ever been. A huge thanks to Edward Huang, Huey-Yi Sung, and all our dedicated volunteers who have helped to ensure safety during these times!

• October 4 – Walk to School Day
• October 6 – Principal Coffee in the library
• October 13 – No school for students
