Newcastle Elementary needs auction volunteers
Come auction night, the auction committee, parents, teacher and staff will be enjoying the event as guests. To run an auction, with all it's logistics behind the scene, we heavily rely on volunteers from other schools. When other schools host their auctions, we send volunteers to help with their auction. This way we guarantee, that each school (parents, teacher and staff)  has a fun night and benefits from the volunteer swap.   This year, Newcastle Elementary needs volunteers from Somerset. All adults are welcome to attend an information exchange session on Thursday January 31st from 6:30-7:30p at Somerset in Room 208. Representatives from the Bellevue Gifted Association of the Bellevue PTSA Council and previously also Bellevue School District Gifted Advisory Committee will share updates and listen to feedback about the Advanced Learning program. Tyee PTSA is hosting a “Transitioning to Middle School” student panel.  We invite all 5th grade students and their parents from our feeder elementary schools (Newport Heights, Somerset , Eastgate, and Woodridge) to attend. The event will be a moderated question & answer session featuring a panel of current middle school students from Tyee Middle School, International School and Bellevue Big Picture School. The purpose is to give current 5th graders and their parents a chance to hear about students’ experiences in middle school.  The event was held last year, and attendees found it helpful. A list of stations will be at the main entrance and you and your student can explore aeronautics, acoustics, buoyancy, mechanical and structural engineering, math dilemmas, and robotics. Wednesday Morning,  October 10 With a great support from the City of Bellevue, we will have our  Walk to School Day  on  Wednesday, October 10 th .  Students may walk to school directly, or you may drop them to our Walking School Buses.
