The Starry Night auction was a big success and the PTSA is very grateful to our auction co-chairs, My-Linh Thai and Ruth Raskind for their amazing dedication to our community. For over 18 months they have been planning for and working toward this biennial event, which is our biggest fundraiser, and of vital importance to the programs that the PTSA supports in the school. Many of us enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Auction, and all of us will benefit from their incredibly successful fundraising. Please join the PTSA in extending your congratulations to Ruth and My-Linh for their achievement - they did it for the betterment of the school, and not for the praise of their community, but we are very grateful.
As the auction co-chairs have repeatedly said, the auction was not a two-person job, but also took the time and effort of many volunteers. We would also like to thank those who on top off the "all-round volunteering" headed even more challenges; Tanya Franzen-Garrett was responsible for procurement, Thuy Pham for the beautiful decorations, Sandra Koo for the games and raffles , Melissa Stevens for the classroom projects that were auctioned off, Aya Ishira for the design of invitations and cards, Jude Mercer for all IT related wizardry, and Audrey Scallon for table placement and volunteer coordination, Donna Lee for organizing baskets and Dessert Dash, Mai-Tram Hunyh for grade level baskets, Colleen Allison, Homa Hassan and Shanna McLean for teacher experiences, Kate Vanover and Kathy Franzel for teacher books, Diane Fern and Meredith Chung for thank-you cards, Kiran Mascarenhas, Irene Endow, Linda Woo, Michael Ketchum and Lisa Brandli for Publicity/Marketing/Communication/Web publishing/Catalog, Angie Reiker-Weiser for the budget and Emilie Castle and all those who helped with procurement.
What is more, the work related to the auction is not over. The Auction chairs are still working hard to give us the financial picture (which we already know is very good) and writing the extensive report to be used for the next generations of auction chairs to come.
