As you know, Somerset PTSA could not operate without donations from students’ families and community supporters. What you may or may not know, is that many of you work for companies that provide matching funds for every hour you volunteer at a non profit organization such as Somerset PTSA.
For instance, if you are a PTSA volunteer and work for Microsoft, you can submit all your volunteer hours to Microsoft, and they will pay us all your volunteer time at a hourly rate. These matching programs are an important source of funds for Somerset PTSA.
For those of you enrolled in a matching program, please be sure to track your volunteer hours and fill out any forms required so that we can receive the matching fund you have earned. If you are unfamiliar with your company’s policies, please check to see if a matching program exists and enroll if it does.
Companies that encourage volunteerism this way usually make it easy to fill out forms to enroll and track hours. It takes a short amount of time from you but you will make a big difference by ensuring that we receive this additional funding to support our programs.
We are grateful for all the volunteer hours that so many of you contribute to Somerset PTSA and for every extra dollar we receive because of your commitment to the success of Somerset Elementary and our children.
