Somerset PTSA’s 2022 Fall Fundraising Drive has officially begun and will run through 10/31/2022!  We invite all families to participate in this campaign because your tax-deductible contributions, in any amount, make a big difference to our entire school community. Our goal this fall is $150,000. The suggested donation amount is $250 per household student, but we are grateful for any amount you are comfortable giving. Thank you so much for your generous support.

 

Where does the money go?

The PTSA provides a number of enriching programs and services to Somerset Elementary; the average cost is over $400/student each school year. Some examples of how we support our school, students, and community:  

Funding for General School Assistants (GSAs)

GSAs are integral to our school and fulfill a wide variety of roles. They work with teachers in the classroom to improve the adult-to-student ratio, help with small-group work, and provide 1-on-1 academic and/or social-emotional support to students. They also help keep our students safe by facilitating traffic during drop-off/pick-up and monitoring recess and lunchroom periods. Click here to meet our GSAs!

Programs & Curriculum Enrichment

After-school activities (e.g. Chess Club, Math Club), in-school presentations (e.g. ToyMaker, Pacific Science Center, Library Author Talks), STEM events (e.g. Egg Drop), Field Trips (e.g. Biztown), Picture Day, and Yearbook.

Events and activities

The PTSA hosts many fun events throughout the year to engage our school community, including Back-to-School events, Walk-a-thon, Field Day, Fifth Grade Activities, and more!

School Grants

Somerset Elementary relies on us to provide funding for classroom supplies and capital equipment for the school.
