During the 44th annual Washington State PTA Legislative Assembly, delegates from PTSAs across Washington State will gather at Bellevue College to decide what public policy positions the WSPTA (and its associated local PTAs and councils) will focus on to guide state and local advocacy work.

Delegates from each PTSA will gather to debate, amend, and vote on 13 new legislative issues, 1 new proposed resolution, and 3 proposed amendments to existing resolutions. Legislative issues will be ranked by delegates to determine a Top 5 for the 2023 and 2024 legislative sessions.

The number of delegates permitted per PTSA is dependent on the size of the school. As one of the largest elementary schools in Washington, Somerset Elementary PTSA has the maximum 8 delegate positions available.

The 2022 Voters’ Guide has been created to help delegates prepare for the caucusing and general sessions.

If you, your child, or anyone in your community would like to attend and/or represent Somerset Elementary PTSA as a voting delegate, please watch the video below, visit the WSPTA Legislative Assembly page, or contact us at somersetPTSA@gmail.com for more information.
