General Information

  • The event will take place on Saturday October 28, 2023 from 3:00PM - 5:00PM in the Somerset Elementary Parking Lot rain or shine.
  • Feel free to come and go as your schedule allows, but we encourage families to arrive during one of their student’s recommended arrival times:
Kindergarten & First Grade:  3:00 - 3:40
Second Grade & Third Grade:  3:40 - 4:20
Fourth Grade & Fifth Grade:  4:20 - 5:00
  • Trick-or-treaters must have a ticket in order to participate (i.e. to receive treats from trunks)
    • All Somerset students will receive 1 free ticket in their yellow folders the week of the event
    • Guests (siblings, etc.) must be sponsored by a Somerset student and tickets must be pre-purchased ($3/ticket) in advance
    • Adults do not need tickets to attend
  • RSVP to help us plan accordingly (i.e. so that we have enough treats for everyone!)

Costume/Outfit Considerations

  • ***Remember your audience: this is a family-friendly event at an elementary school (ie ages 5-11yrs old, with siblings younger than 5yrs old also attending)
  • Trick-or-treaters may wear a costume or favorite outfit
  • All regular school guidelines around costumes/clothing must be followed.
  • Please no: real or pretend weapons, blood, projectiles, overly scary costumes, gore, or politically affiliated clothing.
  • We request that all adults do not wear masks with their costumes. For security purposes we want to make sure that all adults are identifiable.

During the Event

  • Guardians must remain with children at all times. This is not a drop-off event.
  • All trick-or-treaters must visibly wear their wristbands to receive treats
  • Remember to bring a bag/pail/basket to collect treats!
  • Please follow the flow of foot traffic around the trunks (all foot traffic should move in one direction).
  • Please be mindful of the treats your children choose (consider any food allergies, family preferences, age-appropriateness, etc.)
  • Trick-or-treaters should only go to each Trunk once!
  • Best Trunk competition: Trick-or-treaters can vote for their favorite Trunk by QR code at the event
    • Voting will close at 5pm on Saturday Oct 29
  • Overall: collect treats, admire Trunks, make some friends, have fun!

After the Event

  • Please keep our school beautiful - throw away trash in appropriate bins.
  • Please place any leftover or unwanted candy in the designated container for donation.
