Do I really need to RSVP for my Somerset student (no guests)?

Yes!  Even though all Somerset students will receive 1 free ticket, please RSVP so we can make sure we have enough treats!

Why do I need to pre-purchase additional tickets by Oct 22?

Trunk-or-Treat is a community building event for Somerset Elementary families and their guests only.  Through RSVPs and pre-purchased tickets, our Chairs can better estimate how much candy/treats we need for our trick-or-treaters!

Somerset students will receive their ticket + pre-purchased guest tickets (if applicable) on Oct 25 in their yellow folders.  This way, trick-or-treaters can start collecting treats as soon as they arrive!

What if I forget to bring my ticket?

We will have tickets for any students that may have been absent on Fri Oct 25. Similar to other events you attend, if you forget to bring your ticket, you will need to go home to pick it up!

Is my child required to wear a Halloween costume?

No, costumes are completely optional!  Your child is welcome to wear their favorite outfit, party clothing, or just something comfy - as long as they follow Somerset’s school dress code.  Please note, the event will happen rain or shine so dress accordingly!

Can my student still join even if they have a peanut allergy?

Yes!  All Trunk Hosts will be provided with an assortment of nut-free candies so that all children can be included!

Can I host a Trunk but not decorate it?

Yes!  The only thing you need is a car trunk to be a Trunk Host!  Decorations are encouraged, but not required - you can be as minimal or maximal as you would like!  The PTSA will be providing a limited amount of treats to every trunk (if needed), please email us at [email protected] with questions.

Will the school be open for the bathroom?

No, the school building will be closed for the duration of the event.  There is 1 port-a-potty next to the school field available to use.

Where can we park?

The front parking lots are CLOSED for this event.  The field has also been booked on the same day & time (Saturday Oct 26 from 3-5pm) so street parking will be busy!  We highly recommend walking or carpooling if you can.  Please do not block neighbors’ driveways and do not double park on the street - we need to keep the area open in case of emergencies!  Thank you!
