IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ

What is Trunk-or-Treat?

It is a fun, family-friendly spin on the classic Halloween Trick-or-Treat tradition, which offers a safe space for our Somerset students to celebrate Halloween with their school community!

The idea is simple: Trunk Hosts park their cars in the Somerset parking lot and display their decorated trunks. Trick-or-Treaters arrive and walk from vehicle to vehicle, collecting candy the way they would during a normal trick-or-treating outing.

Somerset PTSA was awarded Washington State PTA's Family & Community Engagement Gold Award for Trunk-or-Treat 2023!!!

How Do I Participate?

 Come as a Trick-or-Treater!

RSVP here to help us plan accordingly (i.e. have enough candy)!

Tickets: All Somerset students will receive 1 free ticket.  Additional trick-or-treater tickets are available for purchase (for siblings, etc. - limit 3) for $3/ticket after the RSVP page.

We welcome families to come and go as their schedules allow, but request everyone try to arrive during one of their student's recommended time slots, if possible. This helps us limit traffic and crowding and makes the event more enjoyable for all.

Participants are encouraged to come in their favorite costume or outfit as they parade through the parking lot admiring trunks and collecting treats!

Host a Trunk!

Want to be part of the action, hand out some treats, and maybe even win a contest?

We are looking for spirited Somerset families and staff to sign up as Trunk Hosts to display their decorated Trunks for all to admire! Turn your vehicle trunk into a spooktacular exhibit for families to enjoy while collecting treats.  Grab some friends to host a trunk and/or students are welcome to host, too!  Adult supervision required.

Participants (Somerset families and Somerset staff) will automatically be entered into the annual Best Trunk contest!

Please note, decorations are optional.

Sign up here to be a Trunk Host.

Donate Treats!

If you are able, please consider donating treats that our Trunk Hosts can hand out at the event. Somerset Elementary has nearly 750 students this year, so your sweet support would help greatly! Candy is welcome (must be store-bought, individually-wrapped, and unopened), but age-appropriate, non-candy treats (such as temporary tattoos, stickers, pencils, erasers, glow sticks, stamps, etc.) would be extra amazing!

Treat Donation Box is located in the Somerset Elementary office for parents and students to drop off donations.

Alternatively, you may donate to the event when you RSVP/purchase additional tickets.  Thank you for your generosity and support!

Volunteer!

As always, we need your help to make this event a success! Click here to sign up as an event volunteer.

  • Please no: real or pretend weapons, projectiles, overly scary costumes, or gore. All regular school guidelines around costumes/clothing must be followed.

  • We request that adults do not wear masks with their costumes. For security purposes we want to make sure that all adults are identifiable.
  • Don't forget to bring a bag/pail/basket to collect treats!
  • Please be mindful of the treats your children choose (consider any food allergies, family preferences, age-appropriateness, etc.)
